A quote for a “Toyota Camry power steering rack” leaves an important question open: which steering system and which component does the car actually need?
Confirm whether the vehicle uses hydraulic assistance or electric power steering (EPS), identify the component the workshop needs, then check the full OE reference against the vehicle. A model year, the term EPS or a similar-looking rack cannot settle those questions on its own.
An older Camry Hybrid can already have EPS
“Older Camry means hydraulic steering” is a poor starting point. Toyota's 2007 Camry Hybrid emergency response guide identifies an electric power steering system. Toyota's U.S. introduction of the 2012 Camry also describes EPS across the new model range.
Those are two documented examples, not a worldwide changeover chart. Record the car's original sales market, model year, production date when available, engine and Hybrid status. Keep the registration year separate: it may not be the model year.
For a car thought to have hydraulic steering, ask the workshop to confirm the pump, reservoir and fluid lines from the vehicle's documentation before requesting a hydraulic rack quote. For an EPS car, ask which assembly provides assistance and which component was diagnosed. The word “electric” describes the assistance system; it does not tell you what comes in a rack quotation.

Read the catalog notes for 44250-06330 and 45510-06011
Two dealer catalog records show why a part number needs context:
| Reference in the dealer catalog | What the checked page shows | What still needs confirmation |
|---|---|---|
| 44250-06330 | Longo Toyota's page heading names 2007–2011 Camry. The description includes U.S.-built and trim restrictions, including an exclusion for Japan-built vehicles and a note about versions without SE. | The actual vehicle application, full assembly reference and supplied components. The retrieved detailed fitment table was blank. |
| 45510-06011 | Longo's catalog page selected for a 2012 Camry SE, 3.5-litre V6, lists this rack-and-pinion assembly. The page also lists a motor and a steering-column control module separately. | Confirmation against the VIN and relevant catalog, plus a written statement of what the rack quotation includes. |
Toyota's U.S. product page for 45510-06011 lists 45510-06021 as a previous version. If that number appears on the removed unit, keep the full old and offered references and confirm the proposed replacement against the VIN and applicable catalog.
These two dealer records do not establish that the racks interchange, and a number prefix alone does not identify hydraulic or EPS assistance.
If the old label and the offered reference differ, keep both numbers and ask the supplier to document the relationship using the vehicle's applicable catalog. Do not shorten the number, drop a suffix or accept “same as Camry” as the explanation.
Get the workshop to name the component
Before collecting prices, ask for the component name from the diagnosis: steering rack, steering column, assist motor, control module or another identified part. Keep any fault-code report with that diagnosis.
A quote headed “EPS rack” does not show whether a motor or module is included. A quote headed “complete rack” does not settle whether it includes inner tie rods, outer tie-rod ends, boots or brackets. Have the seller list the contents rather than leaving the receiving workshop to interpret the heading.
For the distinction between a rack and a column-assisted system, see our mechanical steering rack and EPS column guide. That guide explains the component question; it does not assign a Camry OE number to your vehicle.
Ask for three photos of the offered unit
Start with a readable photograph of the removed unit's label. Keep the manufacturer reference as well as the OE number. If a character cannot be read, mark it as unconfirmed and take another photo.
Then ask the supplier for three views of the actual unit offered:
- The label or identification marking. The full reference should be readable, including any suffix. Confirm that the photographed unit is the one being quoted.
- The complete assembly from both sides. The photos should show what is supplied and what is absent. Match that view to the written component list.
- The relevant interfaces. Ask for clear views of the input connection, mounting points and the fluid or electrical connections appropriate to the identified assembly. If dimensions need comparing, agree with the workshop and supplier which dimensions and measurement points to use.

A short video can make those same details easier to inspect: hold on the label, turn the unit to show both sides, then show the relevant connections. A clip showing a shaft moving does not, by itself, prove vehicle fitment or the condition of every part in the assembly.
Send a Camry inquiry that can be checked
Use this with the label photo and workshop information. Leave anything unknown marked “not confirmed.”

Two Camry questions to settle first
Does a 2012 Camry need a hydraulic rack?
Toyota's U.S. launch information describes EPS for the 2012 range. Check the individual car's market and records before ordering. Do not select a hydraulic assembly simply because a supplier calls it a “power steering rack.”
Does EPS mean the replacement rack includes a motor?
The name alone does not answer that. Confirm the assistance arrangement, the diagnosed component and the quoted contents. The dealer catalog example above lists the rack, motor and steering-column control module separately; a rack listing should not be read as a promise that all of them are included.
Ask KITLAMT about the confirmed reference
KITLAMT sells new and remanufactured steering racks. Send the Camry details, old label photo, identified component, quantity and destination through our WhatsApp or email contact details. Ask whether we can quote the confirmed reference, and have the offered condition and supplied components recorded before ordering.
